Brooklyn Custom Grind Burger (CLOSED)

The Experience: WrestleMania only comes once a year, and only comes to the greater New York area about once a decade. Some scoff at the idea of professional wrestling, but the Burgermeisters revel in this bit of Americana. At WrestleMania XXIX, the Burgermeisters descended upon MetLife Stadium and attempted to cure their hunger with the in-house burger joint’s wares.

Brooklyn Custom Grind Burger is on every level of the stadium, and sadly, the Burgermeisters chose the wrong level to get their burgers. The service was slow, and by the time the last Burgermeister got his food, the first Burgermeister was chewing on a cold hamburger. Other floors had their act together, however, so your mileage may vary when it comes to ordering at the stadium.

Burger Ordered: Cheeseburger

The Taste: Reviews of food at the stadium generally have nice things to say about this burger, but the Burgermeisters simply were not so kind. The patty tasted as weak and defrosted as anyone with an ounce of sense knew it must have been. The sad bit is, defrosted patties don’t have to taste bad as a rule, and it was obvious that no care went into serving these burgers. The cheese was barely melted as well. Given how difficult it is to put condiments on a burger at the stadium without dropping everything on the floor, this was really unacceptable.

The french fries, on the other hand, were a bit of crinkle cut deliciousness. They had just the right amount of salt, and barely needed the difficult-to-obtain condiments.

The Verdict: Skip the burger and get the fries. If you’re really hungry, get a corn dog.

Brooklyn Grind Custom Burger is located on various levels of MetLife Stadium at 1 MetLife Stadium Drive in
East Rutherford, New Jersey.
