The Experience: I continue my Long Island gastropub tour with a trip to Lynbrook and Brook 23 Bar & Kitchen. This place had great décor and a really fun menu with some tasty appetizers, some that were good for one person and quite a few that were good for sharing. They have a very friendly and knowledgeable staff that provided us with wonderful service. My group started off with their warm “Sigmund” pretzel, which is served with Kentucky beer cheese and German mustard. We also ordered the house smoked pulled short rib sliders. The Pretzel was very good but the short rib sliders stole the appetizer show.
Burger Ordered: Smoked Baby Blue
The Taste: The Smoked Baby Blue is comprised of house blended beef, Danish blue cheese, smoked portobello, red onion jam, and dressed with house BBQ sauce. This bad boy was absolutely delicious. All the components married together to celebrate an explosive flavor festival in my face. The blue cheese was present yet not overpowering, the portobello added a unique texture, and the red onion jam and BBQ sauce were delightful touches.
The Verdict: I will certainly be making another trip to Lynbrook to further explore Brook 23’s menu. If you’re in the area I highly recommend that you do the same.
Brook 23 is located at 23 Atlantic Avenue in Lynbrook, New York.
