It’s been a while since I’ve reviewed one of Shake Shacks specialty burgers. Over two years, in fact. That changes today, because a couple months ago I tried their Shackmeister Brat and it was amazing and it turns out they serve a burger with the same cheese sauce on it and I wanted it so I got it. My rule for Shake Shack is that I can only review a new burger if I eat it in a location I haven’t been to before. Luckily, New York City is lousy with Shake Shacks, so it was no problem.
Burger Ordered: The Bacon CheddarShack
The Taste: A 100% all-natural Angus beef patty topped with smoked Niman Ranch bacon and Wisconsin-aged cheddar cheese sauce, this burger is a delight! Though not quite as mind-bending as its bratwurst counterpart, it still satisfies, is a nice variation of the standard Shack Burger, and won’t leave you feeling disgustingly full. That’s the Shake Shack triple threat win!
The Verdict: Is this review kind of half-assed? Sure, but the burger it’s based on is great. Shake Shack misses only ever so rarely, and in this case they scored.
Shake Shack is located at 1333 Broadway in Manhattan, New York.
