As a Long Island native, even I am still pleasantly surprised and appreciative of the scenery of some of the water views and plentiful beaches. Navy Beach is a restaurant located in Montauk that takes advantage of their beach front location to captivate their audience. Customers are greeted to couches, bean bags, and beach chairs laid out, without exaggeration, steps from the water. I was lucky enough to get to this place on a perfect cloudless calm weekday in July where I ate lying on a couch in the sun. The surroundings and killer vibe at Navy Beach are great; however, I struck gold ordering the signature burger.
Burger Ordered: The Navy Burger
The Taste: Personally, I am someone that prefers trying new things and expects something with complex or innovative ingredients to satisfy my burger craze. I wasn’t expecting too much when I saw this somewhat simplistic Navy Burger on the menu; however, I was proven wrong by one key factor to this burger: the bacon marmalade. This spread coinciding with the cabot cheddar and near perfectly cooked medium rare burger made for a high quality taste.
The Verdict: The burger was fantastic and clearly photogenic as fuck. The taste of the burger, going hand-in-hand with Navy Beach’s relaxed Montauk waterfront setting made for a top memory of this last summer. Since @Tasting_LongIsland first discovered this gem, it has been featured on several large outlets such as @Complex and now our friends at @BurgerWeekly! I’ll most definitely be out there for another Navy Burger this upcoming summer.
